16 Policemen Burnt To Death In An Autocrash


Sixteen policemen who  just graduated from Police College were burnt to death at Omua-Aran area of Kwara State following an auto crash involving a Mercedes Bwnz and Hummer Bus.

 An eye witness told journalist that the accident occurred in the morning at about 9.00am just in front of the Federal Government Girls College, Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

The Toyota Hummer bus which the policemen chattered was travelling from Ilorin to Nasarawa State, while the Mercedes Benz car with number plate Kaduna AB 347 BKA was coming from the opposite direction and rammed into the "police vehicle."
It was reported that the impact of both vehicles caused a fire outbreak. However, rescuers were said to have gotten to the scene of the accident too late as both vehicles were burnt beyond recognition.

We gathered that the policemen were indigenes of Kwara, trained in Lagos. They were reportedly travelled through Ilorin to enroute Nasarawa State where they met their untimely death.

We gathered that there are three survivors who are rushed to Omu - Aran General Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
