The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr Tunji Bello, on Saturday 27th July, said the State Government will seal up any building where residents display their clothes outside indiscriminately.
According to Mr. Tunji Bello, spreading of washed clothes on frontage of buildings, fences and railings have become the norm in some parts of the state and the practice constitutes a nuisance to the environment. Tough actions would be taken against erring persons. Houses where compound residents also hang their clothes outside will be sealed, Mr Bello concluded.
LAWMA officials have also been directed to pack those clothes as refuse wherever they see them.
