MTN Project West African Season 5 ends with Ayo Emerging as the winner


The season 5 of MTN Project Fame West Africa has ended with Ayobami Ayoola, aka Ayo, going home with the star prize of a Toyota Rav4 Jeep, N2.5 million and a recording contract courtesy of the sponsor.

He edged out competition from six other finalists. On hand to present the winner’s prize was the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Larry Annettes.

The first runners up Marvellous won himself a Toyota Corolla, and the sum of N1.5 million. The second runners up, Adetoun  Adekoya went home with a Toyota Yaris and the sum of N1 million,while the third runners up, Ella the wild card entrant into the competition went home with N1 million.



The grand finale on Saturday, September 29, 2012 also witnessed special performances from Style-Plus of the famous “Olufunmi” hit track;  Chidinma, winner of MTN project Fame season 3 and Flavours. The finalists were also on stage to perform their personal composition.

MTN Project Fame West Africa is a reality music show. This year, 15 contestants made it to the academy from a wide pool of potentially famous young stars from off screen auditions. Auditions were held in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and selected states in Nigeria.
They were housed in the MTN academy for a period during when they were groomed by music experts on how to become top rated music stars.

On a daily basis, viewers were given the unique opportunity to follow the behind the scene activities of the learning processes of the participants. The public then had the opportunity of voting for their favorite contestants while the one with the highest number of vote became the eventual winner.
